July 12, 2007 Ad Hoc Committee Meeting
Present: Chris Cobb, Janet Fore, Kitty Green, Joe Incandela, Nancy Nekvasil, Daniel Party, Charlie Peltier, Patti Sayre
1. Minutes from 7/6/07 were approved.
2. Joe will try to arrange for Leslie Wang to meet with us Wednesday, July 18, at noon, to review the results of the survey taken at the end of the term; Chris will send out spreadsheets he has worked up regarding how different faculty responded on different issues.
3. The remainder of the session was devoted to reviewing the two models currently on the table. First, the Purpose, Goals and Outcomes section of the former Model C was modestly reworked. Second, the committee began reworking a recent draft of outcomes for the former Model B. Issues of measurability and issues of elegance and conceptual tightness were discussed. Time ran out before the revision could be completed. Nancy will continue to work on revising in preparation for future discussions.
