III. Chris conveyed Kelly Hamilton’s concerns about existing history learning outcomes failing to address students being able to “make arguments in support of historical interpretations to achieve understanding.” We incorporated some of these ideas into the following Historical Analysis skill outcome: “A Saint Mary’s student analyzes and evaluates historical evidence to make arguments in support of interpretations that demonstrate understanding of persons, ideas, or events in the context of a particular period.”
