November 4, 2009, Ad Hoc Committee Meeting

Minutes of previous two meetings approved
Next two meetings - Friday, 11/6, noon until 2:00 p.m. in Madaleva 212 and Wednesday 11/11, noon until 1:00 p.m. in Library
Internationalization Lab Team - consultants meeting - Thursday, 11/12, 9:15-10:30 a.m. in Spes Unica 136. Joe and Chris will attend; others on committee are welcome if available.
Gen Ed governance update by Joe and discussion followed.
Joe and Patricia have discussed an advisory group that would study ways to better incorporate, from a non-course perspective, “Women’s Voices” into the Gen Ed curriculum. Group would include members from Women’s Studies and would report to our committee. Some concern about whether group’s work could be completed by Christmas in time to be a part of a more comprehensive package presented at the January Faculty Development Day.
Discussed concerns raised during most recent Gen Ed Lunch. Faculty still are interested in CTS but have concerns about being able to do it.
