Announcement:

• Joe learned from Ed Ackerley that only one of the two Teagle grants
  seems appropriate to the work of our committee. That grant is
  assessment related, so the Assessment committee will deal with the
  application process.

The core of the meeting was used to plan the upcoming GenEd lunch
(Monday Dec 8). We will focus on issues surrounding the CT seminar.
How do we meet students where they are (in their first semester right
out of high school)? What kind of things should the CT seminar do to
start their intellectual development and creatively "disrupt their
intellectual expectations"? How could the CT seminar link/align with
other first-year courses? How could courses that students would take
after the CTS change to take advantage of the work done in the CTS?

Joe will also bring up the issue of faculty development grants at the
lunch. This is an important issue because we are aware that no GenEd
reform can happen without faculty development.

We decided to start the lunch with an intro from Joe, and then have
faculty discuss in tables first and then report.
